Resumen
Objective: To assess the differences in cross-sectional, sagittal and vertical intra- and inter-arc relationships in study models of children from three to five years of age linked with Households (ICBF) and to relate them to the Laws of the development of the stomatognathic system. Method: Measures were taken of 209 pairs of models of children from three to five years old linked to the ICBF Children's Homes. Sociodemographic variables were recorded, as well as intra and inter-arc. A multiple linear regression was established using the mean line difference as a dependent variable, while all the others were established as independent. A statistical significance of p <0.05 was considered. Results: the sample consisted of 116 girls and 93 boys, with an average age of 3.90 ±
0.69 years. The majority (94.39%) belonging to socioeconomic strata 1, 2 and 3. The average line deviation on average was 0.03 ± 0.62 mm to the right and the overbite was higher on the left side on average 4.02 ± 0.85mm. There is sufficient evidence (p <0.05) to affirm that according to sex, bow widths are higher in boys than in girls. The upper left anterior width is greater than the right one (p = 0.000). Children who have a distoclusion or neutroclusion are those who on average have the highest overbite, unlike those of mesioclusion where the overbite is lower. Likewise, it was found that 36.00% of the variability of the mean line according to the multiple linear regression is given in correspondence (p <0.05) with the right molar relationship, left molar relationship, right canine relationship, canine relationship left, right overbite, left overbite, right upper arc length, upper left arc length, and right lower arc length. Conclusion: Of the intra and inter-arc variables observed and according to the multiple linear regression, it can be concluded that the mean line is influenced at 36.00% by the molar and canine relationships, the overbite and the arc lengths, except for the left lower arch length (p = 0.119). In this way, the average line increases (to the right) or decreases (to the left) for each millimeter that increases one of the related variables and when the rest of the variables remain constant.
