Una mirada a la resiliencia desde la vejez y su desarrollo en los adultos mayores institucionalizados

Abstract

This work aims to understand resilience in old age and its development in institutionalized older adults, in the same way it seeks to publicize the aspects that strengthen resilient processes in the older adult and identify the importance of resilience in the quality of life of this population, this was done through the methodology of qualitative research from a documentary review of the texts produced during the years 2008 to 2019. The collection of information was done through 5 databases which were: Redalyc, Scielo, Google Scholar, Springerlink, and Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection. The search in these databases was done through the following combinations of words: resilience and healthy aging, resilience and old age, resilience in institutionalized people, resilience and quality of life, and resilience. Subsequently the information collected was analyzed using the SAR instrument and the TRD matrix (Document Results Table), which was built on the needs of the research. The analysis of the documents made it possible to know the importance of developing resilience at the stage of old age, both in institutionalized and non-institutionalized populations, and at the same time to determine the aspects that allow to strengthen the resilient process, finally evidenced the correlation between the resilient process and the quality of life of individuals.
