Representaciones sociales y su relación con la percepción de satisfacción sexual en estudiantes universitarios

Abstract

The main objective of this research was to understand the relationship between social representations and perceived sexual satisfaction in a group of university students in the city of Bogota, which is based on the line of research of the Faculty of Psychology of the University Santo Tomas: Psychology, everyday contexts and social transformations, as it seeks to contribute to the construction of knowledge around the influence of social representations in the conception of sexuality. In this way, the problem question on which this research is based is: How do social representations interact with the individual perception of sexual satisfaction in a group of university students in the city of Bogota? At the same time, this investigative exercise is based on a qualitative methodology, which will be worked from symbolic interactionism and second-order cybernetics, where the subjectivity of the interviewer has a fundamental role in the established consideration of the perceptions of the participants about what that is considered may or may not contribute research. Based on this, in-depth interviews were used as a strategy and were conducted in individual sessions with each of the 3 participants, who ranged between 18 and 24 years of age, where the participation was 2 women and 1 man. The results concluded that there is a close relationship between social representations and the individual conception of sexuality. In addition, the recognition of the importance of aspects such as self-esteem, self-perception, motivation, beliefs, values and culture in shaping the concept of sexuality on the individual perception of reality.
