The river Buque is a body of water located in the municipality of Villavicencio. This river is born in the hill of Buenavista at Northwest of Villavicencio and flows into the Ocoa River, after approximately10 km of trajectory. This research project aims to identify the phenomenon of scouring presented by the river Buque by means of modeling and hydraulic simulation of this body of water , seeking to determine the mitigation measures necessary to stop the degradation of the land at the critical points of the chosen section, thus decreasing the risk in the zones that are in the margin of the slope of the river. The project is divided into three (3) phases: The phase one (1) is to Carry out the geomorphological and hydrometeorological characterization of the river Buque basin and identify the characteristics of the middle river Buque basin. The phase two (2) is to Carry out the calculations, modeling, simulations and relevant analyzes to identify the undermining provided by the basin and the mitigation measures to deal with this phenomenon, safeguarding the areas that are within the margin of the slope of the river. And the phase three (3) the area will be spatially delimited with the erosion contributed by the river Buque, through the elaboration of maps of the grading of the scour and the measures to be established for its control.
