Análisis morfométrico de la cuenca del río Mulaló utilizando herramientas de SIG

Abstract

The integral management of watersheds becomes a more important solution tool to facilitate sustainable management and the orderly use of natural resources. Within the activities of a territorial planning, the geographical space defined by a watershed is of fundamental importance to define the actions tending to the management of resources. The objective of this study was to determine the parameters that define the morphometry of the drainage network of the Mulaló river basin. For this, two Landsat Satellite Images and one SRTM3 DEM were used, which were processed in ERDAS Imagine 9.2. Then, we worked on ArcGIS 10.4, which allowed us to define the area and watercourses through the DEM. With the data obtained, the main parameters of the morphometry of the drainage network were calculated and the graph corresponding to the hypsometric curve was generated.
