Resumen
The research had the interest to understand the polyphonic construction (various narratives) of
the identity through the body in the teaching experience from a constructionism perspective, and
a second-order qualitative methodology, with the participation of two high school teachers and one elementary school teacher chosen by a convenience sampling, for that reason the in-depth
interview and the focus group were used as information collection instruments. The results were
approached from a categorical analysis, where the following constructs were related: identity
(descriptions of himself / herself, meanings, diverse voices and experiences), and body (culture,
medium and body image). As a conclusion, the polyphony concept was resumed from the
multidisciplinary concept as a metaphoric resource for the comprehension of the meanings that
had been constructed through the narratives and the co-construction of the same ones on the
experiences of teaching, framed in the corporal dynamics, like the gestures, postures and specific
movement patterns of the construction and configuration of the identity in the teacher from the
interaction with others and the conception of himself.
