La explicación científica en los modelos cosmológicos aristotélico-ptolemaico y copernicano: elecciones teóricas y valores epistémicos

Abstract

The present investigation finds in the disciplinary framework of the History of Science a way to deepen the reflections on human knowledge and scientific configuration. In it, an analysis of the cosmological models in tension at the beginning of modern thought is carried out: the Ptolemaic and Copernican models. Developments of some epistemologists such as Canguilhem, Koyré, Kuhn and Laudan are taken into account, as expressions of two major trends in the field, the French and the United States, in order to problematize scientific change in the paradigms of rebirth, with the intention to perform an epistemological assessment of both models that takes into account the incommensurability, discontinuity and complexity of scientific change.
