Resumen
Taking into account that the sugamuxi valley is a great generator of pollutants, due to the large and medium-sized industry that it presents in the productive sectors, combined with urban growth in the most critical area of the city, CO2 emissions have been increasing In recent years due to lack of control in environmental and landscape authorities, it is known that Sogamoso is a valley surrounded by a mountain range which makes it have poor ventilation and its winds are in a northeastern direction, and this generates us that the particulate matter is concentrated in the center of the valley; which means that the population directly receives environmental impacts, and these have produced a great deterioration in health. Well, previous work has been carried out to determine the impact of pollution on the population of Sogamoso; The Environmental Sanitation Division of Hospital San José (1991), analyzes the aspects of hospital morbidity during the years 1988 to 1990, and shows a close correlation between respiratory diseases.
In this heterogeneous industry there are companies with high technology and modern infrastructure, such as cement, steel and metallurgical plants, but there are also artisan companies that use technologies that date back to colonial times, for example lime and brick kilns. These are the generators of pollutants in the environment, and they are located in the northern zone of the Sugamuxi Valley; Well, studies tell us that 81% of industries do not control their emissions.
