Implementación del Sistema de Gestión para la Competencia de los Laboratorios de Pruebas y Calibración, en el Laboratorio de Control de Calidad de la Empresa Semillas del Llano S.A.S

Abstract

The running of the NTC ISO / IEC 17025:2017, allows to the laboratories to have a test and calibration quality system that guarantees that they have the technical process necessary to produce trustworthy results. For Semillano SAS, as a company dedicated to the commercialization of rice seeds, grasses and forage legumes, it is vital importance to demonstrate the skill to prove they have in the quality control of the characteristics that determine the performance of the products they commercialize, in order to guarantee the market high quality seeds. To prove this skill, it is necessary to have the recognition of its quality control laboratory before the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), for which it must have running the referred normativity that said the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, which in turn involves having a management system such as the quality management system (QMS). This consulting work developed the test and calibration quality system in Semillano's laboratory under the NTC ISO / IEC 17025: 2017 normativity through the application of the PDVA continuous improvement cycle (plan, do, verify and act), This allowed running clear objectives and activities in each of its phases and facilitating to take the general requirements to prove the skill of Semillano's quality control laboratory.

The activities were planned according to the information and analysis obtained from the diagnosis of the laboratory's situation with respect to accomplishment with current regulatory requirements. From there, the action plan was formulated with the main objective of implementing the management system for the competition of the laboratories, and whose activities were carried out according to a schedule established between the parties. Finally, a first verification of the system was carried out, through an internal audit. Achieve an advance of 78.57% on the total fulfillment of the normative requirements in the Quality Control laboratory, giving a special emphasis on the construction of all the required documents and which are an important factor for obtaining reliable results and good development. of this process. The remaining 17.14% correspond to activities in the implementation process, and most of which are articulated with the quality management system that the company has been developing. Likewise, it was reach that the test and calibration quality system was compatible with the strategic direction of Semillano and suitable against the planned provisions that allow compliance with its policy and achieve the planned results, using resources properly and positively impacting the management of the organization.
