Resumen
Introduction: Bibliometric analysis uses statistical techniques that provide relevant information to identify advances in activities related to the generation of knowledge, trends and characteristics of articles published in journals. Objective: To analyze the bibliometric indicators of the SIGNOS Magazine, through a descriptive, longitudinal study. Research method: Quantitative, descriptive and longitudinal bibliometric study. We analyzed 121 articles corresponding to 16 volumes in the period 1996 to 2016. We studied the indicators of production, visibility and impact and collaboration, identifying citation level through the website of the journal. Results: Signos published 4% of writings in English, with a total of 196 authors with 3 or more articles, of which 40 authors wrote an article individually, finding that 61% are women. The internal collaboration was 46 contributions and externally it was 75 contributions. The most frequent keywords were quality management and quality management systems. Conclusions: The bibliometric analysis made it possible to show the current state of the journal, its weaknesses and strengths, a significant contribution for the editors as a coadjutant tool in the management process.
