dc.description.abstractTaking into account the communication needs of the Ecopetrol - Chevron District Guajira Association, the comparison and selection of point-to-point microwave link technologies was carried out in order to design a ring that meets those needs. Through research on the operating principles of microwave systems, comparison of existing technologies and available simulation tools, a design could be reached that will undoubtedly meet the reliability and availability requirements required to maintain the District's communications systems in operation and thereby reduce the possibility of failures that may lead to damage to people, the environment and processes.
