Research processes in university hospitals are subject to rules and specific regulations aimed at the supervision and monitoring of activities formative. However, it is not frequent to find studies that analyze the Research problem as a substantive function of the institution and generator of supplementary income from service provision activities. In this research project is intended to deepen this point in a case of study of the Bogotá Surgery Society - San José Hospital from the perspective of business architecture that combines process management and the vision of an information system. In this document a business process system is structured hospitals that respond to this purpose by collecting the requirements embodied in an integrated documented system that includes user, system and actor requirement maps in order to classify them into functional and non-functional. Each of the parties involved has its respective proposed performance indicator, since the institution it does not take them into account in its process. After that, the map of processes under BPMN standards, through which visits were made where the information of the current process defined as AS IS that is carried out in intuitive way. Subsequently, a proposed process is elaborated on how to manage the research projects called TO BE from start to finish, passing through the pre-contractual, contractual and post-contractual stages. By means of a digital platform seeks to improve the process in reduction of time and simplicity of the process from when the requirements are received until the thematic offer. For this use case diagrams were elaborated, one in general and a detailed one with each of the actors involved in the process, consolidating the information provided by each of them in the database, as specified in the entity relationship diagram. Finally, a proposed implementation plan for the Bogotá Surgery Society - Hospital San jose.
