The purpose of this research work was to establish the relationship of academic procrastination with time management and psychological distress in students of the psychology program of the Santo Tomás-Bogotá University, through a correlational quantitative study. The sample consisted of 84 university students from the psychology program of the academic cycles of preparation, foundation and deepening, who were voluntarily applied the Procrastination Assessment Scale - Students (PASS) adapted to the Colombian context, which assesses the presence of procrastination and delve into cognitive-behavioral motives; together with the application of the Time Management Behavior Scale (TMBS) adapted to the Colombian context, which measures time management using a Likert-type scale. Data were analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences-SPSS 25 software, analyzing the variables through the Pearson r correlation coefficient and Spearman's Rho, and the T student and Anova tests. Associations and differences were found within the population at a general level, by sex and academic cycle. It was concluded that psychological discomfort and academic procrastination are related to long-term tasks, the phenomenon is associated with student self-regulation, the reasons associated with the phenomenon go beyond the educational context, the differences between sexes and academic cycles are in the tools to manage time and the desire to reduce the level of procrastination, respectively, and that work is not a significant variable in relation to the phenomenon.
