Resumen
Introduction: English has become one of the most relevant languages at the time of its learning, since this is today the most used in different countries of the world, generating its respective relevance and knowledge in the academic stage of a student individual. For this reason, efforts are being made in Latin American universities to guarantee the teaching of a second language, particularly English, being a characteristic in the domain of their graduates. In accordance with the above, the Faculty of Dentistry of the Santo Tomás University currently has some academic spaces with this methodology, including oral pathology. Objective: to assess whether there is an influence of independent variables (sex, age, socioeconomic level, level of English, school graduate and bilingual school) on the perception presented by Oral Pathology students of the Santo Tomás University regarding the CLIL methodology in the year 2021. Materials and Methods: descriptive cross-sectional study, with a sample of students who were studying oral pathology in 2021-II, through the development of a questionnaire. Results: perception was determined through univariate and bivariate analysis. Most of the participants had an average age of less than 20 years and were female. The socioeconomic level that prevailed was 3 and 4, the English levels that prevailed were between A2, B1 and B2. Most of the participants were graduates of private schools and were not bilingual. The level of perception that was obtained was evidently good, reaching 92%. Conclusions: It was determined that the respondents had a good perception of the bilingual methodology, where none presented negative perspectives. In turn, the independent variables in the study had no influence on the perception of it.
