| dc.description.abstract | Introduction. Veterinarians receive training in dentistry constantly and it is part of their daily work, so it is important to investigate trends in equine dentistry publications in order to be able to study and address issues on this topic and also assess the impact of publications Objective. To identify the trends in publications on equine dentistry between the years 2000 and 2020. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was carried out where the trends in publications on equine dentistry were described by means of a series of variables where statistical and mathematical methods were applied as well as the use of bibliometric indicators was considered. Results. 456 records were found in the Scopus and PubMed databases, inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, and finally 174 articles were selected, where Scopus presented all the records. Padraic Dixon was the author with the most publications 43 (33%), Equine Veterinary Journal was the journal with the highest number of publications on the subject, setting a record with 25 (20%) articles during the years 2000-2020, followed by Veterinary Journal with 21 (17%) articles published. Regarding the year of publication in 2020, 27 (9%) articles were published, and the year with the fewest publications was 2000 with 2 (1%) articles. The country that presented the most publications in the area of dentistry in equines was the United Kingdom with 63 records (36%), in second place was the United States with 36 records (21%) and in third place was Germany with 31 records (18%). ). Conclusion. This study allowed us to know that the database with the largest number of publications was Scopus and Equine Veterinary Journal was the journal with the most publications, also, the experimental studies were the ones that were carried out the most and the country where it was published the most was the United Kingdom and USA | |
