Resumen
The purpose of this investigation was aimed at recognizing the social representations that guide the religious consumption in university students from 18 to 25 years in Bogotá, Colombia. In this regard it is important to understand that social representation is seen as the process of building knowledge against any particular situation or event through the reality of a social group; This leads to the religious use is the way that people have a belief and rituals that relate humanity with the "divinity". Through the ethnographic method and basis of qualitative research, the results generally explain that social representations that are formed around lives and experiences of young people such as religious practices in family traditions, social group in which they operate and schooling and university among others, entrench or demolish the construction of beliefs and attitudes that are forged around religion; allowing consumption practices understand that there are around the Catholic religion.
