The Integrated Management Systems ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015, nowadays play a role of wide importance in both public and private organizations; The importance that these represent has become a clear economic benefit, a new form of management that must be an unavoidable part of the planning system for the growth of Colombian companies. In this regard, it is necessary that all organizations become fundamental actors and promoters of the development of quality projects, reducing environmental impacts to our ecosystems. It is for this reason that for the company INGENIERIA Y TRANSPORTE JM S.A.S, the integration of these two management systems contributes to the improvement of its processes and operations, given that, by belonging to the construction sector, in the execution of civil engineering works , environmental damages and impacts have been evidenced in addition to difficulties in the control and delivery of projects, generating cost overruns for the company
ISO 9001:2015 has the purpose of encouraging organizations to execute and provide a quality service, recognizing compliance with the law, where it is a fundamental obligation for any organization and an essential part in its compliance with its requirements that seeks to satisfy the needs of the clients, companies in the construction sector of civil works in Colombia have implemented the Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2015, environmental ISO 14001:2015. The existence of similarities in contents and structures has led to the integration of these systems, thus saving costs and reducing efforts.
Thanks to the extensive execution of civil engineering works that are being developed in the country through the National Institute of Roads (INVIAS), a wide market of bidding processes has been opened for small and medium-sized companies, which seek to strengthen their business organizations, through the implementation of integrated management systems, in order to be competitive in the sector and be able to seek a projection of economic growth and in order to carry out quality works and with environmental commitment.
For this project, the main objective was formulated, to establish a proposal for the integration of the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System with the ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System for the company in the Construction Engineering and Transportation sector JM S.A.S ZOMAC , a methodological design with a mixed approach is proposed, in which the qualitative character predominates, but through the use of tools such as checklists, surveys, data collection matrix allows generating an analysis of quantitative data. Likewise, three objectives were formulated that correspond to the three main phases of development of the project, firstly, to analyze the reference standards in order to determine the common, comparable and specific aspects and requirements that would serve to build the GIS; second, to develop the methodological proposal and, finally, to validate the methodological proposal developed from the evaluation of a panel of experts.
The engineering and transport company JM S.A.S Zomac was created with the purpose of generating development for the country, its operations are focused on the department of Arauca, it was created under the definition of Zomac, which is the tax benefit that it has from the national government for promote the creation of companies in the areas that have been most affected by the armed conflict. The company is made up of 3 partners, where they have professional knowledge in engineering, with experience in civil engineering works, generating entrepreneurship in the country and generating employment in areas of difficult access. As a company in the region from the beginning, it has had a culture of meeting requirements and the Sustainable Development Goals, because when a project is carried out, it generates a lot of employment in the execution area, improving the local economy directly. and generating commitment on the part of the community to finish it with quality and without generating an environmental impact on the ecosystems. The project arises from the need of Senior Management to implement the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System to improve and standardize processes and procedures within the Organization and in turn from its desire to implement the ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System. in order to reduce the possible environmental impacts that are generated towards the environment, within the operation. Its corporate purpose is everything related to the construction of civil engineering works such as the construction of bridges, design and construction of roads, earthworks, construction of aqueducts and sewers, construction of oil locations (Departamento Nacional de Planeacion, 2017).
