Resumen
In order to determine the participation of women around the ritual practice of the Catholic Church, two lay movements belonging to it are taken, such as the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (RCC) and the Neocatechumenal Way (CN). An investigative study is carried out that accounts for the dogmatic formation of the Catholic Church throughout its history, the origin of said movements and the characterization of both, considering their similarities and particularities to effectively determine how their movements develop. ritual practices and the role of women within them. It is carried out from a qualitative methodology using the dense ethnography proposed by Clifford Geertz, allowing a rigorous analysis of ritual practices and through interviews to determine the women's self-perception around their own roles. Within the findings, it was possible to recognize clear differences between the ritual development and the organizational structure of the lay movements studied, allowing the identification of mechanisms of exclusion and undervaluation around the role of women due to the reproduction of a social order around women.
