Resumen
Topics related to sustainable construction take a degree of importance, from the use of waste for the development of construction materials, in one of the sectors that presents representative growth levels by population increase and needs of clearly identifiable infrastructure. This project answers the question: What mineral, industrial and steel waste can be used to produce construction materials in the department of Boyacá based on the analysis of national and international experiences?; also, qualitative methodology of documentary investigation with national and international coverage is applied, specifically that provided by academic centers at the professional, master’s, doctoral and research levels, to carry out a literature review of national and international experiences related to the use of mineral, industrial and steel waste that could be used in the production of construction materials in the department of Boyacá, as the main objective.
From the point of view of the analysis and discussion of the central theme of the project, it was possible to establish from national and international experiences, that of mineral residues such as sterile coal and flying ash, present great opportunities to increase consistency and strength in building materials such as paving and cement; as regards industrial mining waste, phosphogypsum is a waste that favors the hardness and quality of the modified cement and in the case of steel waste, it could be established that they offer properties that favor the resistance of concretes. The main result of the foregoing is that mineral, industrial and steel waste has very favorable characteristics for the manufacture of construction materials.
