Resumen
The purpose of this research was to understand the ethics of care in a community that supports the work of one or more social leaders in the sector of Altos de la Estancia, in the locality of Ciudad Bolivar. Considering the situations of vulnerability that these actors may experience due to their role and without losing sight of the fact that, being part of a community, it is also impacted by this, the concept of the ethics of care, defined as a theory of moral development based on care, responsibility and commitment to others, is taken up again from psychology.
This research work is based on social constructionism and was conducted from the qualitative methodology, specifically from the empirical phenomenology and the in-depth interview and photovoice were applied due to the interest in understanding the phenomenon as it is lived and perceived by the participants and which acquires meaning in a social context (Franco Pacuá, 2019). All this, allowed to identify in the descriptions of the participants the development of their ethic of care with actions such as a greeting, listening, respect for the other, support, participation, unity, company, empathy, concern as well as recognition for the other, such as resistance, and the sense of help in the face of a difficult situation or a need, among others, are ways to contribute to a dignified life and care for the social leaders/sas and other people in their community.
