Throughout History, the construction of infrastructure has provided significant contributions to the social and economic growth of human beings. Civil engineering has contributed to the responsible development of construction works, complying with national and international regulations and quality standards that guarantee a high degree of safety and reliability. For this reason, it could be said that civil engineering has as its primary and fundamental objective to satisfy the needs that arise day by day as a result of different troubles, mainly for the development of economic activities. This career offers to the professional the opportunity to work in many branches such as hydraulics, geotechnics, roads and transportation, structures, bridges, viaducts, tunnels, etc., all of them with the general objective of providing a better quality of life and comfort to the communities surrounding the place of development of the different projects. In addition to the generation of job opportunities, the civil engineer is capable of managing, designing, executing, evaluating and supervising all types of infrastructure work in an honest, suitable and responsible manner to in this way support the growth of communities and large cities.
Activities were carried out in the Company B&V INGENIERÍA S.A.S during a period of 600 hours, as an intern with the aim of applying for the title of Civil Engineer. Within the activities mentioned above in (Annex B), is the supervision and execution of the project called "IMPROVEMENT OF TERTIARY ROADS, THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRACK PLATES IN THE RURAL AREA OF THE SUTAMARCHÁN, BOYACÁ”, in its last stage. This project, which contemplates the construction of 17 new sections of footprint plate, that is to say, a total of 2.8 kilometers of tertiary road to be intervened, besides the complementary
works, such as filters, storm sewers and drainage channels to natural currents.
