Resumen
Although the extractive economy prevails at the beginning of economic history, it is not until the final stage of the twentieth century that it positions a demarcated group of economies benefited by its oil and mineral wealth, stimulating the inflow of capital in a period represented by the demand for primary commodities involved in the energy mining boom. Subsequently, the inflection point contemplated between 2012 and 2014 threatens the sustainability of the mining raw materials supplier guild, The possible causes point to the loss of value in local currencies (taking the Colombian economy as the central axis) together with swings in commodity prices in the sector, leaving the dependence on mining supply in question.
Therefore, this monograph aims to analyze the role of the Colombian extractive mining economy and the possible causal relationship with the exchange rate and the price of raw materials. In order to achieve the objective outlined, a type of correlational methodology is used in a quantitative approach. The importance of this analysis ranges from the academic component; breaking down this plot from contributions from economic history to the practical factor, proposing econometric models nourishing causal principles. Thus, it provides an instrument capable of strengthening the research space, endowing the branch of the mining extractive economy with a characterization in a contemporary conjunctural dilemma.
