In Colombia, the institutions providing health services can obtain a health accreditation certificate voluntarily, which is granted by the mandatory health quality assurance system (SOGCS) called the Single Accreditation System (SUA), it is a periodic process of self-evaluation. internal and external processes and results that guarantee and improve the quality of customer care by offering safe and high quality health services.
A health institution that performs periodic self-evaluation to maintain the accreditation certificate is oriented towards high quality standards and the excellence of its services, by using the SUA and ISO 9001: 2015 quality systems integration methodology we can guide the execution of the processes of health care and health services in an efficient and effective way.
Generating a comparison between the Unique Health Accreditation System (SUA) model and the ISO 9001 standard, allows us to integrate quality management systems, this integration helps improve the performance of the company, adding value to its services, making it more productive and at the same time competitive, from a greater organization and control of its activities, encouraging interest for the skills of any professional, especially in the area of health.
Integrating all the requirements, elements and standards to which the unique health accreditation system and certification under the NTC ISO 9001: 2015 technical standard respond, optimize the results of an organization and is one of the best strategic decisions in quality and competitiveness in the IPS.
By reviewing each of its components it can be seen that they complement each other, the standards are compatible when applied to the quality management system and have common aspects such as continuous improvement and user-centered management.
This tool makes it possible to show where the institution or organization is located and what it must take into account to achieve 100% of the requirements to achieve a high level of quality care.
Competitiveness is an avant-garde issue that over time has spread over time, demanding better benefits and characteristics of its products and services from all types of companies. Organizations every day think of methodologies that optimize their processes, with a view to strengthening their structure, offering new and better services.
The integration of quality systems in health institutions responds to the needs of organizations that seek to provide quality services, guarantee opportunity, efficiency and security.
This tool was developed for application in organizations that provide health services, it was chosen to maintain the structure of ISO 9001 where it is paired with the criteria of the unique accreditation system (SUA) that seek the same purpose or that complement each other. The completion of the tool is performed on a scale of complies, does not comply and does not apply as appropriate.
Obtaining the ISO 9001 and SUA certification generates an impact in quality, since it takes into account the structure, processes, results, generating competitiveness, financial growth, innovation of equipment, procedures and services, additionally the SUA allows to demonstrate, evaluate and verify compliance with higher levels of quality by IPS
