Resumen
Several regions of our country do not have electricity supply due to the lack of accessibility that the populations have to implement the necessary elements in the installation and supply of the service. In addition, the use of non-renewable energies generates high levels of pollution and great damage to people's lives and health.
In response to this scenario, we must take advantage of the natural resources of the populations to produce energy and create the mechanisms capable of generating it, and it is there, in this area, where this project takes place, to design and manufacture a hydrokinetic turbine that converts the energy of a water current in mechanical energy that, through the rotation of a generator, produces electricity.
The design and manufacture of the hydro-kinetic turbine shown in this document is conditioned to the size of the water channel of the Santo Tomás University. The use of this channel with the rotor implemented will collaborate with subsequent studies, especially in the field of renewable energies.
In accordance with the above, the design of the blades is carried out with the help of the Q-Blade software, which will be manufactured with high impact ABS. Then proceed with the design of the main axis, using the fatigue failure criterion and later selection of the bearings will be made.
In order to verify the functioning of Rotor Gorlov, the necessary tests will be carried out on the water channel and on the air channel under the protocol for experiments and tests that govern in the laboratory. The foregoing in order to analyze the results, make the necessary corrections and conclude the recommendations for users and further studies on the implemented system.
