Abstract
This project was developed to evaluate the feasibility of collecting water through an unconventional supply system from atmospheric humidity; This model of alternative water collection known as fog catcher. is a technology option that can solve the lack of water resources for domestic and / or recreational use in the city of Villavicencio, Meta. For this, the area with the highest atmospheric humidity index was defined from a multitemporal and spatial analysis of the daily time series recorded in the active meteorological stations that have coverage in the municipality and its surroundings. Subsequently, a two-dimensional prototype was designed and built that allowed the capture of water from atmospheric humidity at the point where a high potential for use was identified. This system made it possible to quantify the amount of water collected during the period of one month. Microbiological and physicochemical quality analyzes were carried out to determine the use of water according to the maximum permissible values of Decree 1594 of 1984 and Resolution 2115 of 2007. Six (6) liters of water were collected, with an average relative humidity and temperature of 72% and 24 ° C. And it was determined that the water obtained can be used for domestic and / or recreational use.
