Resumen
Volleyball is a sport characterized by being highly complex in its technical, tactical and physically demanding components, volleyball players must develop high levels of strength for greater effectiveness in executing the technical gestures of this discipline. It is important to highlight the strengthening of the middle body area, since a good level of force in the abdominal muscles generates greater control and body stability to achieve adequate torsional movements and promote its transmission to the distal extremities. The explosive force in the lower limbs must been worked on in volleyball players respecting their age, sex, level of technical development, morphophysiological, functional characteristics and their playing position. This manifestation of force is an indispensable action for this sport, since the players must perform a large number of jumps during the game, in attack and defense actions such as service, passing, spiking and blocking. The muscles that make up the abdominal cavity and that are part of the lower limbs remain active during all phases of the game in volleyball players, reflecting their condition in technical actions such as jumping ability. Based on the above, this monograph aims to identify, through a review of the scientific literature, whether or not there is any relationship between abdominal resistance strength and explosive strength in the lower limbs in volleyball players.
