Summary
In our country, the accident rate in motorcycle drivers represents a problem that is increasing. Among other factors, the personality traits and attitudes of the drivers themselves may be determining factors in the occurrence of accidents, as reported in the scientific literature related to the subject. Several tools have been designed to evaluate these attributes, among them the "Battery for Drivers" (BC) elaborated by Fernández - Seara (1990) and edited by TEA editores, which is validated for the Spanish population, but which is not adapted to our population. The objective of this research is to evaluate the content validity of the transcultural adaptation carried out for the personality battery of the Driver Battery (BC) under the criteria of grammatical, semantic and cultural equivalence evaluated by experts and presented to a group of motorcyclists to confirm Through an easy, moderate and difficult assessment, the level of understanding of the adjustments and the favorability of the transcultural adaptation carried out.
Based on an analytical empirical paradigm and using a quantitative approach, an adaptation process was carried out following the guidelines for the translation and adaptation of the tests proposed by Muñiz, Elosua & Hambleton (2013). The battery was adapted linguistically and culturally taking into account the characteristics of the Colombian context; Evidence of the content validity of the adapted instrument was collected through the evaluation carried out by three experts in the areas of psychology and mobility, the results were recorded in the SPSS program and the Kappa index was used as the unit of analysis. The results obtained showed that for the adapted questions there is a moderate level of agreement in the criterion of grammatical equivalence, a level of slight agreement in the criterion of semantic equivalence and an acceptable level of agreement in the criterion of cultural equivalence. In relation to the adapted response options, the results of the evaluations did not coincide, which showed that there was no agreement between the evaluators, thus adjusting the items in relation to the suggestions proposed by the experts. Finally the test was presented adapted to a group of four Colombian motorcyclists in order to respond and evaluate at a level of easy, moderate or difficult how understandable were the items.
