Resumen
Water systems are been influenced by natural and anthropogenic stresses, which affect the use of water, its availability, quality, its ecological status and sustainability. This study is developing within the framework of the project: Resilience and management of strategic socio-ecological systems for agricultural activity, in scenarios of climatic variability. Case study: Sochagota Lake (Boyacá, Colombia) and it is oriented to establish the relationship between water quality variables and hydrodynamic-based socio-ecological indicators. The numerical modeling of the hydrodynamics and transport phenomena in Lake Sochagota was used for the application of the OSSEM methodology. This links hydrological, climatic factors, the occupation of the area and the storage volume, with tensions associated with the dynamics of supply, use and quality of the water. The effects of salinization, water deficit and eutrophication in the Lake Sochagota are evaluated using hydrodynamic based socio-ecological indicators. The behavior of these variables is analyzed under different climatic periods, in order to establish the correlation between socio-ecological indicators and water quality (physical-chemical and microbiological parameters) measured in the same period. Using a hydrodynamic model developed in Delft3D software, socio-ecological indicators (renewal potential, salinization potential, and water deficit potential) in Lake Sochagota are calculated. The results, allow to find significant correlations (p <0.01) between the indicators and key variables of water quality, such as BOD5, COD, chlorophyll a, total and suspended solids, nitrites, nitrates, total coliforms, among others.
