Environmental responsibility, individual, collective and corporate, is one of the most important factors to achieve progress on the road to sustainability, especially in matters that involve the management of substances and / or elements and / or hazardous waste, such as those that They are generated in burial and exhumation activities; which, if not treated in a comprehensive and safe way in each of the links in the chain of custody towards the proper final disposal, can cause damage to public health and the environment; In this sense, environmental engineering is the cornerstone that allows the design and development of activities in an adequate way, in order to control, prevent and mitigate the impacts and risks associated with the services it provides in cemeteries.
To this end, the formulation and implementation of environmental plans and programs was carried out in the parish cemetery of Villa de Leyva, which included, among others, the updating of the Comprehensive Management Plan for Waste Generated in Health Care and Other Activities, PGIRASA; the Emergency Operational Plan, POE; the Basic Sanitation Plan, PSB and the Cleaner Production Programs, PPML. With which the provisions of the Sole Regulatory Decree 780 of 2016, Title 10 "Comprehensive Management of Waste Generated in Health Care and Other Activities" (articles 2.8.10.1 to 2.8.10.17; pages 543-553) ) and Resolution 5194 of 2010, which regulates the provision of cemetery services, burial, exhumation and cremation of corpses, strengthening the proactive vision adopted by the Nuestra Señora del Rosario parish in Villa de Leyva, Boyacá. in response to what was proclaimed by Holy Pope Francis in the encyclical letter "LAUDATO SI" on the care of the common home.
