dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this work is to determine the characteristics of the business model used by Barcelona Activa, to encourage and generate entrepreneurship in your city; This research will allow entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs to know and take advantage of the benefits that this model brings, having as reference a checklist based on the Canvas model (Piggneur, 2010). For this, a visit was made to the company, where a conference was obtained with the executive Marc Sans G, who during the conference held provided the necessary information for this investigation. Next, the sector in which Barcelona Activa carries out its management is contextualized. Barcelona, ​​a city with 1,601,993 inhabitants (Barcelona, ​​2014), is one of the most populous in the European Union, Catalonia is currently the industrial engine of Spain with a 20% share of GDP and ¼ of exports Spanish; In addition to having one of the most important ports in the world, it has strong service economies such as: renewable energy, higher education and tourism; Barcelona becoming the fourth strongest city in Europe in tourism after Paris, London and Rome. This economy allows the level of unemployment to not be the same as in Spain.
