In the present article take place a study of characterization of the status of the process of teaching accomplishes learning of the English language at the University of Los Llanos, in the one that one manages to identify a series of insufficiencies as to the development of the telling abilities of the students in a second tongue. In turn, you accomplish a critical assessment of the aforementioned insufficiencies, as from the consideration of several investigating background on the subject of focuses and methodologies of the English language in the world and in Colombia, that allows suggesting new ideas that can contribute to the elaboration of strategies of overcoming of the professors of English on the most effective methodologies of teaching, guided to his students' development of the telling abilities in English language.
