Myopia is known as a refractive condition in which the light rays focus on an antero-retinal point, in the absence of accommodative activity. In this cross-sectional descriptive observational study, in a population aged 8 to 55 years, accommodative, refractive and motor characteristics of residents in urban and rural areas of nine departments of Colombia will be analyzed. Of the 3334 patients evaluated in the MIOPUR study during 2015 and 2016, a sample of 148 patients who were diagnosed with myopia and myopic astigmatism in some of their eyes was also taken, the highest percentage was found in the department of Nariño. of short-sighted people and the department with the least number of myopic patients was Casanare. The mode of the conclusion was determined that the myopia was presented with higher prevalence in the female sex, in the motor state, the expected results were normal, as well as in the accommodative state that no alteration has occurred in both eyes.
