Resumen
This thesis corresponds to a literature review, which has the objective to investigate
the interventions that use the mindfulness as the main strategy used on the prison context,
emphasizing the psychological benefits demonstrated by employing this technique. For that
purpose, an inquiry into the literature was carried out using the available scientific
publications of high academic connotation that did not exceed the ten years of dissemination,
taking as a primary source the specialized databases (Science Direct, Scopus, Springer Link,
Sage Journals, Taylor, Redalyc and Literatura Gris) with which, using the quantitative
methodology, a descriptive, non-experimental and cross-sectional analysis was carried out, by
using the PRISMA procedure and the Analytical Research Summaries (RAI's). As a result, a
total of 13 articles previously submitted for consideration on the basis of specific criteria and
contrasted with the investigative background found when investigating theoretically the
constructs related to the topic of the present thesis. From this, it could be concluded that the
Mindfulness interventions can be applied in any type of age group, given its multiple
psychological benefits that are obtained after the practice of this technique, among the most
prominent are highlighted the followinG: the reduction of stress, the symptomatology of
depression and an increase in impulse control. Based on the results obtained in this study, it is
intended to make an invitation to continue researching in this type of alternative therapy
solutions, which allows to strengthen the discipline and achieve a greater impact of the
academy in the development of public policies related to the prison population.
