Resumen
The perceptions materialized in environmental practices that are not always responsible, but to a great extent motivated by the media, have increased the demand for products and services, generating considerable amounts of waste that are not always given adequate management to either reuse them, recycle them or give them an appropriate final disposal. In the Northern sector of Bucaramanga, the consequences of the inadequate management of the residues that affect biodiversity in water reservoirs, forests, green areas, parks and public roads are visible based on above observations, this research was formulated which objective is to implement an edu-comunicative strategy directed to the listeners of the Community Radio Station La Brújula for the promotion of pro environmental practices, regarding solid waste management in Communes 1 and 2 of the north of Bucaramanga (Colombia), which led, in the first place, to identify the perceptions; Secondly, to characterize the practices of the population and, thirdly, to design an educomunicative strategy aimed to the listeners of the Community Broadcaster, La Brújula for the promotion of pro-environmental practices around solid waste management in Communes 1 And 2 north of Bucaramanga.
The methodological approach of the research was mixed sequential explanatory type with a design of ethnographic complementarity. To do this, the following research techniques and instruments were used: participant observation, survey and semi-structured interview. Among the conclusions are: (a) the participants consider that solid waste is the material resulting from the separation of the waste produced in the home. (b) The main problems caused by the inadequate management of solid waste are the deterioration of quality of life, depletion and water pollution; (c) study participants consider radio station as an efficient way to educate themselves about the proper management of solid waste.
