Resumen
Since 2013 Venezuela has been facing a multidimensional crisis, characterized by economic hyperinflation, rising crime, mortality and extreme poverty. This situation led to the fact that a large part of its population decided to migrate, producing a massive exit of Venezuelans who moved to different countries in search of improving their quality of life. The proximity had as a result that, by February 29, 2020, according to Colombian migration figures, more than 1 million 825 thousand Venezuelans were located in Colombia, of which approximately 40% were in Bogotá, Cúcuta, Barranquilla, Medellín and Cali.
Considering the number of Venezuelans located in Bogotá and the vacuum in studies that analyzed the political participation of migrants in the host countries (beyond the vote), Interest arose in identifying the incidence of Venezuelan migrant organizations in the creation and execution of district projects and/or programs in Bogotá during 2018 and 2021. In order to achieve this objective, several in-depth interviews were conducted, focusing on the categories: Political Participation, Civil Society, Associationism and Cultural Integration, directed specifically at members of migrant organizations in Bogotá. Based on the information gathered, several key aspects were found that influence the participation of the organizations, identify the main concerns regarding the care of the Venezuelan migrant in the country and the successes and deficiencies of the policies already implemented by the
National Government.
