Resumen
This article of reflection starts from
general considerations to
specific elements, on what sex
work carried out by migrant women
implies, emphasizing this social dynamics
as an attractive and dynamic resource,
prefiguring a series of determined
impacts, such as the migratory factor,
which brings with it additional conditions
for what has been job insecurity in sex
work. Based on this, this document is
strengthened by the postulates of different
authors that address this social
phenomenon from different points of
view, which are intertwined with each
other, to achieve a complete synthesis, in
addition to this, it adheres as a first-hand
source, an interview with a female sex
worker of Venezuelan nationality, who
resides in Puerto López-Meta, in order to
complement the theoretical
documentation with field work. For this
article, a qualitative methodological
approach is established, using the semi-
structured interview and the documentary
journey as an analysis tool, in order to
elucidate the state and social
shortcomings that are reproduced on a
daily basis in the collective environment,
for this the rights are highlighted sexual
and reproductive factors as the basis of
the silenced demands of sex work, later it
becomes evident what it entails to
exercise sex work with respect to health,
living conditions in general and the
various factors of inequity that feed on the
social environment to which they migrate:
inequality, misinformation, job insecurity,
among other problems that deepen when
there is sexual and gender discrimination.
This conglomeration of situations
generates a pertinent scenario for social
study, emphasizing an understanding of
what it means to be a woman, a migrant
and a sex worker.
