dc.description.abstractProstitution is a topic of constant discussion on the part of several sciences and disciplines in the Colombian context, being a broad subject to investigate, understand the social relations of women in the specific moments of their life, when they exercised the activity of Prostitution and in the real moment in which they are developing another type of activity. In this way, it identifies itself through five women who take part in the process of the Community of ‘Las Hermanas Adoratrices’, who definitively withdrew from the activity of prostitution and who carried out the process that plants the organization of the word; These protagonists accepted the application of an individual semi-structured interview and a focus group on which is based, the stories of life. Thenceforth, the categories are established: family, community, work and friends, following this, are the subcategories, which are, legality, culture, economy, traditions, regulation, social practices and reciprocity, emerging from the life stories, these are religious beliefs and self-esteem. In this order of ideas, there is evidence of a potentiality in the categories of family and work, the category of community has a slower transition to strengthen social relations and the category of friends is not compatible since in general terms, the concept Is not addressed by the participants to be non-existent from their perspective, taking into account that all of this is influenced by the process currently taking to the Community of Sisters. On the other hand, emergent categories, religious beliefs, show the importance that has in the family and also, plays a role of union and change within it, moreover, self-esteem refers to the influence in the Decision-making at the moment of changing activity and understanding the skills that each one has. Therefore, the research contributes to the Psychology in its field of research in that its qualitative content represents an advance within the field in social subjects, in this way, it suggests the growth and the investigations, currently thematic.
