Rasgos de Personalidad, Locus de Control y Pensamientos Distorsionados hacia la Mujer en una Muestra de Hombres de la Ciudad de Villavicencio, Meta.

Abstract

The present research aimed to determine the relationship between personality traits, locus of control, and distorted thoughts towards women in men from Villavicencio, Meta. In order to meet this objective, a quantitative, non-experimental methodology investigation was carried out with a descriptive-correlational scope; and a sample of participants of 302 men aged 18 to 37 from Villavicencio. Three instruments were used: Inventory of Distorted Thoughts Towards Women and the Use of Violence - Revised, Rotter's Locus of Control Scale, and HEXACO - Personality Inventory. When carrying out the descriptive statistical analysis and the inferential statistical analysis, it is concluded that: the most dominant Personality trait is Honesty-Humility, most of the participants present Internal Locus of Control and Low and Medium Low levels of Distorted Thoughts; Therefore, it is believed that there is a relationship between personality traits, locus of control and distorted thoughts towards women in men aged 18 to 37 years from Villavicencio.
