Resumen
Introduction: The current development of new technologies in telecommunications and information technology influence the nature and on all aspects of contemporary social life. This influence is determining the transition from industrial society to society communication or as others call it, the information society, which presupposes a change in thinking, doing and being of the individual. Objective: To determine the reproducibility of periodontal presumptive diagnosis obtained with the software compared with the diagnosis made by the specialist according to the manual analysis. Materials and methods: A study evaluating diagnostic technologies, in order to determine some psychometric characteristics of periodontal software was designed. Additionally, a descriptive cross-sectional study software attributes were evaluated with a survey of students and teachers of graduate periodontics. Results: In assessing the variables of a presumptive diagnosis, the index plate Silness and Löe, the rate of extent and severity and CIP, comparing the manual Periodontal and registered software a coefficient of 1 was found for each of these indices, ie an almost perfect reproducibility between the two methods according to the criteria of Landis and Koch, additionally the average was calculated with confidence intervals of 95% of the time graphical and analysis manual periodontal chart, they were 10.92 minutes with 95% from 9.99 to 11.85 minutes 6.36 minutes with 95% CI 5.62 to 7.10, respectively. the assessment made by participants at the time of exposing the educational video, which showed the general characteristics of the software, resulting in most variables were good, except variable spelling and sentence construction where a participant answered Regular and 31 they said it was good, 96.9% with a confidence interval of 84.3 to 99.4%. Conclusion: The data and project characteristics considered here are not definitive. These may be changing function data / additional features that are identified or wish to evaluate new projects.
