In Colombia, the psychological expert opinion as a probative material element in the Criminal Accusatory System (Law 906 of 2004) and under the General Code of the Process (Law 1564 of 2012) has become more relevant. The objective of the present investigation was to identify the perception of the judges with knowledge function of the city of Bogotá D.C. on the participation of the forensic psychologist, through a non-experimental methodological design from which a survey consisting of 53 questions was structured framed in the theoretical conceptualization of the work of the forensic psychologist in the judicial field with response options Likert type. There were 30 judges from the republic who exercise their public function in the Judicial Complex from Paloquemao and Convida.
The results of the investigation, identifying the surveys and the roles that the forensic psychologist has in the Colombian context. In addition to this, aspects were identified that the judges relevant aspects when assessing the participation of a forensic psychologist in audience, such as clarity, scientific technicality and comprehensiveness in terms of reporting, oral skills, expression and legal knowledge regarding the professional that supports the information. All this, coupled with the importance they claimed to give to the work performed by the professional in psychology, when considering the concepts issued by the expert in their sentences.
