Resumen
The objective of this research was to identify the main causes of school dropout at the Departmental Educational Institution Campo Alegre in the municipality of El Rosal, Cundinamarca, in the 2014-2017 period. As a theoretical support, the concepts of
education, school desertion, in contrast to territorial and family variables were taken into account; In this sense, the methodology used in this research is based on a mixedapproach, which is divided into three phases: the first refers to the characterization of
the territory and the population, the second is a diagnosis of the problem and the third phase are the proposals to mitigate the school dropout in said institution.
