dc.description.abstractThis investigation aprroaches to citizen education in the school curriculum since the end of nineteenth century to the current model in citizenship competencies. Durning the twentieth century a dispute arises for the formation of citizens betwenn liberals and conservaties where the conservaties guides the curriculum frome the catholic pedagogy to the formation of a citizen as devout believers of God. On the other hand the liberals builds an unfinished project for the secularization of education and the formation of citizens servants to the State. In the last decades the establishment of an education model based on competences strengthening citizen training of citizens was stregthened transversally placing the school as a space in dispute where from the curriculum is cut, selects and orders the valuable knowledge for th exercise of citizenship.
