Resumen
The keratoconus is defined as a frequent progressive disorder, in which the cornea adopts an irregular conical shape, characterized by the slimming of the central or paracentral stoma which produce an irregular astigmatism and reduces vision significantly. For its clinical assessment is necessary to use diagnostic tests that determine the evolution of that pathology; in this investigation was implemented an optoelectronic tool with which we could make the three-dimensional fingering of the anterior surface of a cornea with keratoconus and also represents an alternative with lower cost for the keratoconus detection. Objectives: Evaluate the reproducibility of the strip projection system in the corneal curvature measurement in patients with keratoconus. Methodology: Evaluation study of longitudinal type quantitative diagnostic tests, to fulfill the objectives the clinical and sociodemographic variables were evaluated, also the curvature of the face before the cornea was measured in patients with keratoconus, making and univariate and bivariate analysis of them. Previously, an informed consent was applied for approval of participation in the study; a data collection instrument used for data collection in the reconstruction of the cornea was applied using the strip projection system. Results: For checking the reproducibility of the strip projection system, the intraclass correlation coefficient was used, indicated that the degree of reliability found in the study was mild for the area with 0.092 and regulate for volume with 0.375 of the corneal surface. Conclusions: Three-dimensional digitization of the corneal surface of patients with keratoconus pathology was achieved.
