Resumen
This study arose from the researcher’s interest in the relationship between clinical setting, the identitary processes of the therapist, and the subjectivities meeting in the therapeutic environment, where the depression has highest levels of prevalence (Ministerio de Salud, 2015). To explore these issues, the researchers interviewed four psychotherapists with differing theoretical and epistemological approaches, with the aim of understanding, in the context of the treatment of depression, how does the therapeutic style emerges from the dimensions of intersubjectivity.
To realize this objective within the appropriate complex, constructivist, and systemic framework, the study was realized under a second-order qualitative methodology, which includes a collection tools (semi-structured interviews) and information analysis (category analysis). After conducting four interviews of professional psychologists, the information was organized in category matrices that shed light on the contents of a professional therapist’s intervention, such as the nature of the therapeutic relationship and the therapists' personal views on interventions for depression. The researchers subsequently developed an understanding of the therapeutic style of each professional from the dimensions of intersubjectivity, based on the researcher’s self-referential processes as psychologists in formation, along the same lines as the category matrix used to organize the interviews.
