Abapa, a variant of the African Awale, has become a pedagogical tool worthy of exploiting in the classrooms, not only because of the symbolic load of the board or its age, but because of its ability to weave community and develop numerical skills while strengthening social structure. Under this perspective, a board has been designed with the purpose of socializing the game in rural and urban communities of Colombia, where the first efforts have given the expected result in José Hilario López School, located in Union del Salado village, municipality of Páez, department of Cauca.
