Resumen
The current demand for AEE encouraged by the constant technological development and a limitation of the life cycle, has generated that users constantly acquire new electrical and electronic devices. This process of consumption, is translated in the same way in a constant growth of generation of WEEE that are managed to us of correct way. Within the public entities of the municipality of Restrepo, the use of EEE in the different labor and educational activities represent a potential technological waste due to the decrease in the life of the EEE.
For this reason, this work is proposed as a management tool based on the different provisions established by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, which will allow entities to establish diagnostic, storage, maintenance / repair and disposal measures. WEEE First, for the formulation of the program, it was necessary to establish the baseline of WEEE management, to identify the current situation of the different entities of the municipality. There, the generation of electronic waste is recognized as a problem due to the lack of knowledge regarding the handling and disposal of this type of waste; whose situation was corroborated through the results obtained in the survey and the results of compliance with basic management criteria in only four of the 23 entities. In the same way it is possible to identify the quantity and weight of stored waste; where about 2 tons correspond to schools and colleges, and 252 kg correspond to government entities. Likewise, the panorama of the different actors involved in the WEEE management process is established.
Once the diagnosis is established, a series of strategies are formulated that are focused on aspects such as: registration and control of inputs and outputs of EEE and WEEE, storage of WEEE, reduction in the generation of WEEE through maintenance and repair, final disposal of WEEE, awareness of environmental education and energy efficiency. Finally, management indicators were designed as an evaluation and monitoring method so that the public entities studied can quantitatively and qualitatively measure their progress after the implementation of the program.
