Historia de los cables aéreos en Colombia : una solución de movilidad para zonas de difícil acceso en Colombia

Abstract

Los sistemas de cable ofrecen una solución para proveer transporte público de alta calidad y de bajas emisiones en zonas de difícil acceso. De esta manera, el cable aéreo utiliza la tecnología como una solución para extender la red de transporte público formal y de calidad en zonas urbanas, especialmente en lugares segregados y montañosos. Esta investigación presenta una breve historia del sistema de transporte por cable en Colombia y cómo este ha respondido a las necesidades de la población. Adicionalmente, se identifican las implicaciones que tiene la construcción de este sistema de transporte, haciendo un análisis multidisciplinario en términos de movilidad, ámbito social y modificación del entorno urbano, todo ello en pro de la movilidad sostenible. Esta investigación se divide en tres fases, contextualización e historia del sistema de transporte por cable, desarrollo y análisis de implicaciones y conclusiones. Durante la contextualización, se pretende adquirir conocimiento acerca del sistema de transporte por cable, comprender la historia y el desarrollo que ha tenido este modo de transporte en Colombia, teniendo en cuenta la normativa y legislación colombiana que regula dicho sistema. En la segunda fase, se describen los requerimientos de los proyectos de transporte urbano que deben ser analizados para determinar su viabilidad y se presentan resultados en los casos de transporte mediante cables en Colombia. Por último, el objetivo final fue desarrollar una investigación que lograra concretar la historia del sistema de transporte urbano por cable al igual que análisis realizados. Asimismo, se espera responder a la pregunta ¿Cómo los sistemas de transporte urbano por cable han logrado responder a las problemáticas de la sociedad colombiana? Dicha investigación se enfoca en hacer un contexto y un estudio de la historia de este modo de transporte en las diferentes regiones de Colombia, exponiendo las ventajas, desventajas y retos que tiene para el país.

Cable transportation systems offer a solution to provide public transport characterized by high-quality and low-emissions in areas of difficult access. Aerial cable uses technology as a solution to extend formal public transport network in urban areas, especially in segregated and mountainous locations. This research presents a brief history of the cable transport system in Colombia and how it responds to the needs of the population. In addition, it identifies the implications of the construction of this transport system, making a multidisciplinary analysis in terms of mobility, social aspects and modification of the urban environment, all this for the sake of sustainable mobility. This research is divided into three phases, contextualization and history of the cable transport system, development and analysis of implications and conclusions. During the contextualization, the aim is to acquire knowledge about the cable transport system, understand the history and development of this mode of transport in Colombia, considering the Colombian regulations and legislation. The second phase presents the requirements of urban transport projects that must be analyzed in order to determine their viability, as well it presents results in the cases of cable transport in Colombia. Finally, the objective was to develop a research that collects the history of the urban cable transport system and the analyses carried out. It also hopes to answer the question: How urban cable transport systems have been able to respond to the problems of Colombian society? This research focuses on making a context and a study of the history of this mode of transport in the different regions of Colombia, exposing the advantages, disadvantages and challenges it has for the country.
