Introducción al reconocimiento de pautas para establecer un GSSP del cretácico: formación paja, Colombia

Abstract

Una Sección de Estratotipo y Punto de Limite Global (GSSP, Global Boundary Section Stratotype and Point) es una sección estratigráfica que define un determinado limite que actúa como referencia o localidad tipo en la escala estratigráfica internacional. Colombia tiene un registro estratigráfico amplio del Cretácico, esto debido a la formación de amplias plataformas en un ambiente marino somero que ayudaron con la conservación de varias unidades estratigráficas. El objetivo de este proyecto es revisar y compilar la geología Colombiana del Cretácico junto con la literatura y mapas existentes, y por medio de comparaciones con la información pertinente del ICS, con el fin de buscar sitios potenciales para proponer posibles GSSP del Cretácico Inferior en Colombia. Global Boundary Section Stratotype and Point (GSSP) is a stratigraphic section that defines a boundary that is used as a reference or type locality in international stratigraphic nomenclature. Colombia has a wide stratigraphic record of the Cretaceous, this is due to the formation of the platforms in a marine environment in which the conservation of several strategic units can be found.
