The traditional coffee market has presented diffculties, given that its production and consumption tend to increase but prices decrease, generating losses for the coffee sector. In Colombia, coffee of the arabica species is cultivated in its entirety, which is the only species from which the specialty coffee comes, which, by exceeding a qualitative standard, overcomes the diffculties of traditional coffee, given that its price is higher, but the price is not The only benefit that is found in this special coffee market, there are also incentives, credits, technifications, consultancies that accompany the development of this market. Colombia has high points on important special coffee issues; by 2018, the average sale price was higher than USD10 $ per pound, ten times more than the traditional coffee price. This shows that a possible solution for coffee in Colombia would be the transition to special coffee crops, taking advantage of the history that the country has in this sector and the geographical conditions with which they are counted.
