dc.description.abstractDuring the financial crisis that hit the markets in 2008, it was evident that worldwide financial institutions had lacks of control of their liquidity and its cautious management. Despite of the outstanding fulfill with the indicators established by the industry, this was not enough to stand the pressures freed by the market conditions and it took several financial institutions to extreme situations. This difficulties conceded room for reforms by The Basel Committee (Bank for International Settlements, s.f.), with the target of reinforce the guidelines that the financial institutions must adopt in order to have bigger capability to face future financial markets crisis. The convergence to the Basel standards by the Colombian entities creates the necessity to evaluate the fundraising alternatives, looking for analyze its efficiency in terms of costs and impact of the liquidity indicators, in order to align the regulatory fulfillment with the entity interests.
